DSG / DCT Servicing

Dual-clutch gearbox maintenance with the right judgement first.

Service the gearbox before it becomes a fault

DSG and DCT gearboxes need correct servicing discipline. Fluid, filters, adaptations and symptoms all matter when deciding whether the car needs routine maintenance or diagnostic work.

This page is for maintenance. Cars that already have warning messages, judder, slipping, hesitation or harsh shifts should usually be assessed as gearbox diagnostic jobs first.

Wet clutch DSG

Service interval discipline matters

Many wet-clutch DSG applications have defined service intervals and filter/fluid procedures. Missing those intervals can turn a maintenance item into a drivability or mechatronic complaint later.

  • Fluid specification, filter access and fill process must be correct.
  • Service history should be reviewed before deciding the next interval.
  • Existing judder, slip or warning messages should be diagnosed before service work is promised as a fix.

Heat and usage change the conversation

Dual-clutch gearboxes in performance vehicles can have different service expectations from a normal road car. Heat, driving style, previous maintenance and adaptation state all matter.

  • Ask about symptoms as well as mileage.
  • Treat harsh shifts and clutch complaints as evidence to investigate.
  • Link gearbox servicing with broader performance-car servicing, brakes and driveline condition.

How LT Servicing approaches it

You do not need to know the workshop term. Tell us the symptoms and we will explain whether the car needs servicing, fault-finding or repair work.

What we look at

  • DSG and DCT servicing for suitable vehicles.
  • Symptom check before treating a gearbox fault as routine servicing.
  • Advice on gearbox behaviour, warning lights and adaptation concerns.
  • Clear path into diagnostic work if servicing is not the right first step.
