Car Losing Power Or Going Into Limp Mode

For poor acceleration, limp mode, hesitation and cars that will not pull properly.
Llandow workshop, South Wales customers

Power loss is a symptom, not a single fault

Loss of power can come from boost leaks, turbo control, fuelling, air metering, DPF load, EGR faults, sensors, software limits or gearbox behaviour.

We start with when the car loses power, what lights are on and what the car has recorded, then test the systems most likely to explain the complaint.

What happens next

You do not need to know the workshop term. Tell us the symptoms and we will explain whether the car needs servicing, fault-finding or repair work.

What we look at

  • Limp mode, hesitation, poor acceleration or the car refusing to rev properly.
  • Boost, fuelling, air, emissions and sensor checks.
  • Links to DPF, EGR, turbo and engine diagnostics where relevant.
  • Repair recommendations only after the cause is narrowed down.
If the problem points elsewhere
